Christina Applegate will be starring in a M&M’s commercial that will be airing during the 2019 Super Bowl. A teaser from the commercial is now up on YouTube.

Christina Applegate has signed on to star in a new dark comedy series on Netflix titled Dead to Me according to Deadline Hollywood.

Written by Liz Feldman, Dead to Me, which has a 10-episode straight-to-series order, has been described as a comedic Big Little Lies. It is about a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow (Applegate) and a free spirit with a shocking secret.

Applegate will play Jen, a poised and put-together woman with a dark sense of humor and an anger problem that she doesn’t necessarily want to deal with. Jen has been struggling to keep it together in the months since her husband was killed in a hit and run.

With all the talk about “The Sweetest Thing” and the interview with the cast, rumors have begun about a sequel to the film. Variety has reached out to the filmmakers to address these rumors.

In light of Blair’s desire to do a sequel to the rom-com, Variety reached out to the creative team behind “The Sweetest Thing” to get a reality check on a possible sequel.

While nothing is in the works, both the original director and writer could be on board to eventually develop a follow-up film.
