There’s nothing in the world that’s more important than the health and well-being of Christina’s unborn baby – but she IS considering a return to Broadway!

Because Christina Applegate is about to become a mom for the first time, she’s understandably protective about her unborn child. Not only does she hold her cute little bump to keep it from harm, but she also confirmed to us that looking out for her baby-to-be takes precedence over everything else!

“The baby being healthy is the top priority right now,” the 38-year-old Going the Distance star told HollywoodLife.com exclusively at the Surf Rider Foundation event in Malibu, Calif. Sept. 11.

“I’m feeling good, really good,” she added, before saying that she hopes her child grows up with a conscience and will keep the environment clean. “I hope this baby knows how important this – the ocean – is, [that] this is where we live and how we need to respect it.”

With fiance – and baby daddy – Martyn Lenoble standing by her side for support, Christina DID confess that she has a few future plans, when baby Applegate is healthy, happy and safe. “[I’m not planning on returning to Broadway] any time soon, but I have dreams of it all the time,” the actress, who was nominated for a Tony after appearing in 2005’s Sweet Charity, confided, adding, “Maybe once I get my body back in gear.”

Christina,
I think it’s great you get the very blessed opprotunity to have a child. I am a breast cancer survivor. I was 33 the first time which was over 14 years ago. You absolutely made the right choice of treatment. I did not have the gene that pointed to inheritance, therefore I made a different decision and very much regret it. I’ve now had 3 more occurances. The last was my brain and liver just before in the same year. I have one child that I gave birth to 2 years before cancer so I know how blessed you feel. I would not have him if I had waited longer to have a child. I don’t know what the future holds for me but new tecnology is keeping me alive such as Herceptin. I think it is great that you are showing your support for others with this disease that takes so much from life. In just the past 2 years I feel like I have been robbed of so much. I read your comments from your Ophrah interview and just cried because I could so much relate. Good Luck to you and your new one! I know he will bring so much joy to you and your family! God Bless!
